About me, Sarah Grey
your body - your strength - your way of moving
I started dancing and performing on stage at the age of 3. By the time I was 12, my undiagnosed hypermobile joints (Joint Hypermobility Syndrome) had caused numerous injuries and made me feel ungainly and unable to continue doing what I loved.
By my mid-20's, I was unable to stand for more than 5 minutes without severe back pain.
In my 30's, I discovered Pilates. My back pain disappeared and I felt strong and in control of my body for the first time. After attending classes for a few years and with the support of my wonderful Pilates instructor, I made the decision to train as an instructor myself and get back to doing what I loved: movement and helping others.
In 2009, I qualified as a Level 3 Pilates Instructor and set up Pilates South West, delivering classes in Devon and Somerset. Since then, I have continued to study functional movement and how best to pass on that knowledge to all my clients, regardless of ability.
In 2012, I became an Assessor, helping up and coming Pilates Instructors achieve they Level 3 qualifications.
My most recent studies are with The Neuro Studio, enabling me to take my knowledge even further and help those with neurological conditions, something I have wanted to do for many years. Many people with these conditions are left without hope or support. Meghann and Mariska at The Neuro Studio offer that and so much more.
The techniques I have learned most recently work with everybody's brain, which has been game-changing for ALL my clients, helping them to feel stronger and more active.
Many of my clients have been with me since I first began, each with their own individual goals being met either in group classes, Zoom sessions, or 1-1 sessions.
I absolutely love what I do.
